Inspiration Wharf · Case filed

38 condos on acontaminated shore.Neighbors took it to court.

On July 14, 2026 the Town approved Inspiration Wharf: 38 for-sale condominiums on a former coal yard now in New York’s Brownfield Cleanup Program. On August 13 residents filed an Article 78 petition asking a judge to review that approval.

SOS PW is the neighbors following the case, the state cleanup, and what a public waterfront could be instead.

Where things stand

What neighbors have done since July.

SOS PW grew from community conversations in July 2026, when the Town approved a condominium project on a contaminated stretch of the waterfront. It is still a young organization, and the record so far is what its neighbors have done together.

The waterfront is bigger than any one proposal. The case is where the work started; the cleanup, public access, and a healthier harbor are where it goes next.
